As we reflect on the 44-year legacy at St. Joseph Catholic School, we are fortunate to have a solid foundation from which we provide a high quality education in a Christ-centered environment, on a secure campus where our 21st century learners feel loved as part of our school family. Our 44th year offers us an opportunity to celebrate and express our gratitude for the traditions and charisms that make us St. Joseph Catholic School.
The history and tradition is what inspires the next chapter of St. Joseph Catholic School. As we grow together as a school community, and discover new opportunities, we arm ourselves with a refreshed brand identity - our formal school crest! While the visual identity of our school may transform, the core mission, values and the quality education remain the same.
Just as the school has evolved the essence of our brand has followed suit. One of the strategic development goals for 2020 is to refresh our school brand through a professionally architectured process. The purpose of this goal is to formally establish consistent branding components, update their relevancy, and reignite and engage our school community (school spirit and pride)! While the visual identity of our school may transform, the core mission, values and the quality faith-based education remains the same.
“There is nothing better than witnessing the continuing tradition of excellence the teachers and staff give the next generation of Saints.”
In 1978, St. Joseph Catholic School opened its doors as a Catholic school for students in grades kindergarten through sixth grade with an enrollment of 162 students. In 1981, the parish bid farewell to the Holy Ghost Fathers and welcomed the Franciscan T.O.R. friars who continue to serve the parish today. In 1987, a new church was built and dedicated to accommodate the growing Catholic population. Anticipation of expanded parish needs and future enrollment paved the way for St. Joseph Catholic Church to receive approval for the final phase of the school building expansion. Additional classrooms, computer and science labs, a media center, administrative offices and conference rooms, a full-service kitchen, an expansive parish hall, and surface parking were constructed for the 2003-2004 school year. Today, St. Joseph Catholic School is one of the largest kindergarten through eighth grade Catholic schools in the Diocese of Arlington with an enrollment of 515 students in kindergarten through eighth grade.
